hi, we're becks and jess!
Founded in 2020 by two best friends with a love of candles and a lot of free time, Alben Lane candles are hand-poured in Halifax, Nova Scotia, using 100% soy wax for a fresh and safe burn. Each scent is inspired by a memory from experiences and moments from the East Coast of Canada.

we've been best friends since we were babies (don't believe us? check out this blog post!) and decided in 2020 that we wanted to start a candle business together that reflected our values.
we carry each of these elements into every single product that we sell, from production to shipping to the suppliers we support.

meet becks
With a background in building brands through social media, Becks handles the social platforms and the branding side of Alben Lane, web development, and admin work as well as shipping orders. Unfortunately this also includes accounting. She's super passionate in seeing that sustainability flows into every part of the brand, and ensures that our values are felt through the screen.
When she's not working on Alben Lane, she's reading a book, playing a cozy video game or spending time in the sun with her family (including Jess)!

meet jesse
Jesse spends her days pouring candles and chasing around her rascal dog, Dante. She handles the production side of Alben Lane, including supply ordering, candle (and other product) production, labelling etc.
She is extremely passionate about the environment and ensuring the most sustainable practices for Alben Lane, and she loves staging product photos and stressing out about upcoming wholesale orders.
When she's not pouring candles you can usually find her streaming video games on twitch at twitch.tv/bugcatcherjess
